What words describe Cicada? If you look on the Internet you typically find "coolest, grooviest and hippest" as the most over used superlatives. While I feel it isn't quite the coolest, grooviest or hippest restaurant it certainly is one of our favorites whan we need some Aussie-inspired "new world infusion." Its style is trendy, but with an easy, comfortable feel about it.

Sarah and I have been visiting Cicada over the last four years, and since the first time we have been there, we have never come away disappointed with our meal. Being so enthusiastic about the place, I recently convinced another foodie, David Perry, to join my for lunch so I could get an independent viewpoint.

So, with such high praise, what was the food like? Well, for starters, I went for my favorite, the Chilli-salt squid with adjud sauce. Spicy and very tasty! Dave went for the Salmon sashimi, which, I was told, melted in the mouth. Both starters were excellent!

For my main course, I ordered the Caramelised pork. Again the Australian infuence as the balance of old classic and modern Asian made this dish a excellent choice. Dave decided to have the Thai green curry, which he claimed was one of the best he had tried.

All in all, this restaurant is excellent! I am sure it will remain one of Sarah and my favorite restaurants in London.
